John is Principal of Eide Bailly’s State and Local Tax practice. He recently joined Eide Bailly’s National Tax Office after 24 years practicing state taxation with a Big Four firm. John specializes in tax policy, planning, controversy and compliance across all areas of state and local taxation including income/franchise/gross receipts taxes, and sales/use taxes. John has significant experience managing domestic restructuring and M&A initiatives, and has managed hundreds of state tax cases with state tax authorities across the U.S and is proficient in working with state officials on tax policy matters and negotiated incentives. John has broad industry experience working with Fortune 500 companies in telecommunications, technology, media and entertainment, healthcare, consumer products, manufacturing, financial services and real estate. He is a frequent lecturer on multi-state tax topics. John received his B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1992. He received his J.D. and master’s degree in taxation from the University of Akron in 1996, both with honors. In 1995 ad 1996, John served on the editorial board as Assistant Editor of the Akron Law Review, and Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Tax Journal. He is an active member of the Ohio State Bar. John is based in Eide Bailly’s Boulder, Colorado office. PRESENTER BIO: John has over 25 years of experience working in state and local taxation matters.
