Course Description:
This webinar will cover all things donor reporting. Donations are critical component of a nonprofit, with the documenting, tracking and reporting of those donations being vital in maintaining your exempt status. Proper accounting of contributions and promises to give, donations with and without donor restrictions and inkind donations will help ease the management of an organization and its needs while also meeting donor demands.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize when you have a contribution or promise to give.
  • Describe the treatment of restricted contributions and releases from restriction - how to track and how they affect your FS and 990.
  • Explore in-kind donations, what they are and the differences between the 990 and FS.
  • Examine donor reporting - quid pro quo rules, what a receipt to a donor should look like, non-cash donor report for IRS and state reporting.
