GASB-87, Leases – One Last Look for Lessors

Course Description:
June 30th governments that are lessors are trying to finalize implementing GASB Statement No. 87, Leases. At the same time, the GASB just issued GASB Statement No. 100, Omnibus 2022, which may change some decisions. Further, those governments with service concession arrangements and / or public-private or public-public partnerships may have additional contracts they need to analyze to see if the contract is a lease. Hear the focus areas lessees need to tackle and how to prepare for the first audits of the leasing standard and what will be changing soon.

  • Describe how to implement GASB-87 for lessors.
  • Define where to implement GASB Statement Nos. 94, 96 and 100 and how they may impact decisions made in implementing GASB-87.
  • Discuss planning options for the audit of the contracts.
