Event Overview
Course Description:
Over 300 CPT code changes will be effective as of January 1, 2023. The 2023 CPT code set continues with burden-reducing revisions to the codes and guidelines for most evaluation and management (E/M) services. Most significant is the deletion of the Observation CPT code set with the merging of these codes into the existing hospital care CPT codes. This change results in numerous revisions to code descriptions for inpatient services, consultations, emergency department services, nursing facility services, home and residence services, and prolonged services. In addition, CPT is focusing on artificial intelligence and augmented intelligence by introducing a new appendix. This webinar will cover changes within CPT that pertain to surgical and ancillary services that impact your facility. We will also cover the highlights of the 2023 changes to help you and your organization prepare for next year.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the newest CPT Coding Updates as provided by the American Medical Association (AMA)
- Analyze detailed information related to the CPT sections that received the most changes.
- Explore real life vignettes/examples to see the code updates in practice.
