Event Overview
Course Description:
Governments are in the process of gearing up for GASB-87 Leases. In this first part of a three-part series, we will walk through the basics of GASB-87, focusing on lessee accounting in a hands-on manner using two to three real lease scenarios from a lessee perspective. Policy and procedure “pain points” will also be discussed, so you can use what is discussed to review and update your policies and procedures as soon as possible.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the basics of GASB-87, focusing on lessees and implementation provisions.
- Explain how GASB-87 will impact nearly every function of your government and why policies and procedures need to be reviewed as soon as possible.
- Compare the GASB-87 changes on existing leases, including walking through two to three leases from a lessee perspective.
