Congress is working its way toward the latest version of relief legislation related to COVID-19. Provisions from the CARES and Families First Acts may be modified, extended or expanded. New incentives to promote employment and benefit small businesses may also be considered. Join us to explore how this new legislation could impact individual and business taxes, the opportunities it presents and the potential pitfalls it contains.

Mel Schwarz has over 37 years experience specializing in legislative affairs, including development and implementation of tax legislation at the national level. Mel spends a bulk of his time at the capitol meeting with legislators, listening in on updates impacting tax processes and procedures and providing timely internal and external updates and education on issues impacting clients. Mel spent six years on the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation and has served as the Chairman of the AICPA’s Tax Legislation Committee.

Mel will be joined by members of Eide Bailly’s National Tax Office to cover developments in their areas.
