Presenters:
Mel Schwarz, CPA, Director of Legislative Affairs
Mel is located in Washington D.C. and has over 37 years of experience specializing in legislative affairs, including development and implementation of tax legislation at the national level. Mel spends a bulk of his time at the capitol meeting with legislators, listening in on updates impacting tax processes and procedures and providing timely internal and external updates and education on issues impacting clients. Mel spent six years on the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation and has served as the Chairman of the AICPA’s Tax Legislation Committee.

Lauri Dahlberg, PHR, SHRM-CP, Human Resources Consulting Manager
Lauri has more than 25 years of experience with human resources, with 12 of those years spent in the high-tech world and the remaining years in professional services. Experience includes performance management, employee performance coaching, training on preventing harassment, orientation and on-boarding programs, policy review and implementation and personnel file reviews.

Anders Erickson, CISA, CISSP, CRISC, Principal-in-Charge of Cybersecurity
Anders has been with the firm since 2013 and assists clients in establishing a culture of security within their organization. He leads organizations through the process of identifying their cybersecurity risks and brings practical solutions to help manage and mitigate those risks. Anders leads the Eide Bailly cybersecurity services team.

Angie Ziegler, CPP, Business Outsourcing & Strategy Senior Manager
Angie has 17 years of payroll experience with clients ranging from corporate multi-state payrolls to single sole proprietors. She provides guidance for businesses on day-to-day payroll activities, federal and state notices, garnishment and tax updates.
 
Shannon Lemmon, CPA, Partner, Director of International Tax
Shannon leads the firm’s International Tax Team with more than 17 years of public accounting experience and a diverse background in both the consultative and compliance service areas of international tax. She is experienced in the areas of inbound and outbound international tax planning and compliance issues for both companies and their shareholders. Shannon works closely with HLB International member firms to assist clients with international structuring and identifying tax efficient entry into new markets. She is responsible for assisting clients, educating staff and providing thought leadership on a variety of international tax matters.
