Inspired Perspectives - Quarterly Legislative Update
Inspired Perspectives Webinar Series

Event Overview

Course Description
Join us for our quarterly legislative update covering recent developments in tax legislation.

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the tax legislative outlook for this year. Congress and the Trump Administration are negotiating how to best aid individuals and businesses affected by the pandemic. Tax law changes that could include credits to offset additional costs, deferral of required payments and an acceleration of refunds, as well as a possible payroll tax holiday, are all under consideration.

This webinar will update you on the latest from Capitol Hill, the Treasury and the IRS with a focus on how changes may impact you and your business.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the tax legislative landscape
  • Review pending coronavirus-related legislation and explore prospects for future legislation
  • Examine steps taken and considered by the IRS
  • Outline how these changes could impact businesses and individuals
  • Identify possible action steps and planning opportunities

Presenters:
Mel Schwarz, CPA, Director of Legislative Affairs
Mel Schwarz, located in Washington D.C., has over 37 years’ experience specializing in legislative affairs, including development and implementation of tax legislation at the national level. Mel spends a bulk of his time at the capitol meeting with legislators, listening in on updates impacting tax processes and procedures and providing timely internal and external updates and education on issues impacting clients.
