Webinar
Strategic Planning in the Wake of COVID-19
CAH Webinar

Event Overview

Course Description:
This presentation gives specific instruction on strategic planning and how different approaches can suit different organizations in a variety of circumstances. The COVID-19 pandemic, for a time, put long-term planning on hold. In addition, permanent changes in the industry can inhibit the effectiveness and relevance of previous strategic planning work. Now that hospital operations are resuming a new kind of normal, strategic planning can resume, old plans can be reviewed, and lessons learned from the crisis can be incorporated.

Learning objectives:
Compare different approaches to strategic planning. One size doesn’t fit all.
Discuss how Telemedicine was rapidly deployed/expanded during the pandemic and how it may play a role in the wake of COVID-19.
Discuss how updates to the strategic plan may also lead to changes in your approach to communications and marketing.

Presenters:
Adam Strom | Manager, Healthcare Consulting | Eide Bailly
Adam has 15 years of healthcare experience in nonprofit, government and consulting capacities. Adam partners with hospitals, clinics, health systems and long-term care organizations to refine and craft concrete and effective strategy guidance. Adam performs community health needs assessments to understand the health needs of the community and performs strategic market demand analyses to assist management in making strategy and planning decisions. Starting with defining the geography of the service/market area, Adam researches population and demographic trends, historical healthcare utilization, and competitive presence to get a clear picture of present day and future need. This allows an organization to proactively right size its service offering, staffing levels and physical assets.
