Course Description
Each not-for-profit organization has a unique mix of financial characteristics, with a few commonalities of contributions, special events and net assets with donor restrictions. Understanding the key areas of financial reporting and how to use the knowledge to exercise effective due diligence, make informed and strategic decisions and present funders with the most compelling story, can become key qualities in determining the ultimate success of the organization. Achieving long-term mission fulfillment and financial sustainability depend on having board members, management and development staff who understand the role of financial reporting and key performance indicators. This workshop will help build that understanding to support effective leadership.

Ksenia serves a variety of not-for-profit entities in fields such as education, cultural and performing arts, health and human services, public and private foundation, science and research. She also assists federally funded not-for-profit organizations. Ksenia helps her clients navigate the ever-changing complexities of the not-for-profit world, and she enjoys building rich personal relationships, applying her extensive knowledge to solve complex problems and sharing colorful stories of life growing up in Russia.

Maria Schwingler, CPA, Partner | Eide Bailly
Maria joined Eide Bailly in 2005 and provides audit, accounting and business consulting services to a variety of clients. Her specialty is employee benefit plans and nonprofit organizations, and she spends much of her time coordinating and overseeing various audit engagements. Maria works with organizations to understand the impact of accounting changes, including changes and disclosure requirements as they relate to nonprofit and employee benefit plan financial statements and anyelated regulatory changes, as well as communicating audit results to management, committees and boards.
